Really Great Music Videos: “Fireflies”
This is the Owl City song named “Fireflies”, not other songs named “Fireflies”.
Magic Sword
I first heard Magic Sword on Portland’s XRAY.fm. I liked it enough to seek it out.

Inspirational and cute. I love that Jake plays movies for his cats.
J Church “Ayn Rand is Dead”
This is probably my favorite J Church song and it’s not currently available on many music services. Posted here with lyrics. RIP Lance Hahn. It’s likely I’ll post more from J Church in the future but this song deserves a special focus for being a great song and for, unfortunately, continuing to stay topical.
Ayn Rand is dead, So put down your pen,
A whole new generation, Who pointlessly defend,
Ayn Rand is dead, And I cannot pretend,
To embrace a greed, Of unnatural stipend
An individual’s individual, So scared that you’ve turned cynical,
An individual’s individual, So scared that you’ve turned cynical,
You’ve turned cynical
Ayn Rand is dead, She will walk again,
‘Til every river dies polluted, She is the undead,
Ayn Rand is dead, But she wants revenge,
History will march and die, Just like her in the end
An individual’s individual, So scared that you’ve turned cynical,
An individual’s individual, So scared that you’ve turned cynical,
You’ve turned cynical
Ayn Rand is dead, Ayn Rand is dead, Ayn Rand is dead, Ayn Rand is dead
Drunk In Public
Another punk band with a couple of songs I liked and whose CD I own that didn’t make it. My understanding is that 2 of the band members, Greg Ware and Jeff Towe, are deceased. RIP.

Latex Generation
Never a favorite band of mine but I saw them once or twice in the late 90’s, bought their CD, and I liked these songs. And these songs are not currently on Spotify. This is a live performance from 1996 which better captures my experience but the sound quality… leaves something to be desired. The first 2 songs are “21 (Of Age)” and “Sixth Sense” which makes the first 7 minutes worth watching, if you like this kind of thing. Links to the CD versions are below.
